Neurotic Book Lovers

I was at the book store on Friday and discovered I was not the only neurotic book lover around. I stood before a book shelf, seriously comtemplating if I should buy a particular book, Overacuppa who was standing next to me, made the decision for me when she said "Oh, just buy it if you want it!" Ok, decision to buy the book has been made, I proceeded to pick up a copy and started to check its condition, looking for dog ears, creases on the spine etc. I was feeling quite silly about it even though I do such quality checks everytime I buy a book. (I know for a fact that Monoceros does similar quality checks too when she is buying books) Feeling rather silly that Overacuppa was being subjected to a display of my neurotism, I turned to Overcuppa to apologise and guess what, her reply was "Oh, I do that too." Ok, it makes feel so much less bizarre to know at least two of my good friends are of similar mindset as me! Ha ha ha.

ps: Does any one else out do such checks too? And does anyone have any good books to recommend?

Me me! I do that too! We're all a bunch of neurotics when it comes to books!

I was so tickled to read this entry. I'm always apologizing to people who come shopping with me that I'm going to need extra time for QC checks! Heh. We're all the same - I wonder if Vantan does it too. =)

Good books - I've recommended a few to DSD. Any kind you want? Fiction or non-fiction? I think you'll like The Time Traveler's Wife. DSD has read it and Tiggie is starting.

I don't think there is any wrong about QC checks. Its much more efficient then going home and finding some defect in the item we have bought, then we have to go through all that trouble of having to bring it back and change it!

Fiction recommendations would be nice. Think my brain has been bombarded with too much serious work stuff, need to develop my right brain too.
