Movie Feast
I was so deprived of movies for the past few months, but I have made up for it by going on a movie feast the last week I was on leave. Here were the movies that I caught:
1) Million Dollar Baby
I caught this on my plane ride to Brisbane. Not a good movie to watch when one's brain is in need of relaxing or when one is eating. (Supper was being served on the plane as I was watching this and the bloody fighting scenes were right before my eyes as I was eating. That sure made me feel like throwing up the food!) Its heavy going stuff but I was full of admiration for the female lead's fighting spirit and her commitment to her dream. A movie that will leave a lasting impression on anyone who watches it.
2) Princess Diaries
Watched this while I was in Ispwich. Frankly, I prefer its sequel. But this was still enjoyable. Watch only when have nothing better to do or watch.
3) Hitch
This is one of the most enjoyable movies that I have watched in a long time. The pace of the movie was good and its plot witty and funny. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a good time and a laugh. I watched this on my plane ride back to Singapore and it was embarrassing as there were some scenes that were so funny that I had to try very hard to control the volume of my laughter!
4) House of Fury
Caught this on my plane ride back too. A kung fu movie by Stephen Fung. Watchable for its cast of beautiful people, namely Stephen Fung, Daniel Wu and girl group Twins. Another movie to watch when you have nothing better to do or watch.
5) Prince and Me
An enjoyable teen flick. As good as fairytales are supposed to be. A movie to catch if you want to watch a feel good movie that is not a comedy. Predictable but not sappy.
6) Mean girls
Another movie to watch when you have nothing better to do or watch.
7) Supersize Me
Heavy going stuff. Makes you very aware of the kinds of food that you put in your mouth after that. The Ministry of Education and also Health should consider showing this to all school children to get them turned off fast food. And anyone trying to lose weight should watch this movie. Guarantee to develop a new attitude of self-love for your own body and become very paranoid about the food you eat for a week at least.
