Bangkok 2007
I think one of the highlights of the trips I take is the food that I eat. I popped over to Bangkok last December to visit XZ who was working there at that time. The lure of free 5 star accomodation was just not resistable!! However as I went during a public holiday, my air tickets were horrendously expensive.
This was my first trip to Bangkok. Yah, I know, its rather funny that I have been to Europe, USA and Australia but have seen so little of Asia. For the record, I have never been to Hong Kong also but I intend to remedy that this year. Many people have laughed at me already that I have never been to Hong Kong and Bangkok since those destinations are so common to Singaporeans so if you are laughing, you are not the first.
Besides the food I ate in Bangkok, the other thing that remains deeply etched in my memory from my Bangkok trip is the amount of walking I did while I was there. Yes, XZ, I am going to keep talking about it!! Ha ha. My dear friend XZ insisted that I should see as much of Bangkok as possible and since everything is within walking distance, we walked and we walked and we WALKED! By the end of my first night, my feet were aching very badly. Ok, looking back, I am quite glad XZ made me walk so much coz I really got to see alot of things and went to many places. And dear XZ kept laughing at me coz by the end of the second night, I was limping. She could not believe how lousy my stamina was!
The first night, XZ brought me to Jim Thompson warehouse where I spent alot of time looking and ended buying a polo shirt and some accessories for myself. Then we went on to Bangkok's hip shopping district MBK and just browsed the shops there. After that, we had MK for dinner. I am so sick of MK now. I had it when I was in Phuket in October and then again in Bangkok in December. Dun wanna see MK again for some time!! After dinner, we walked and finally ended the night with a good massage. When in Thailand, going for massage is also something that cannot be missed out.
On my second day, XZ went to work while I slept late in the hotel. Then I took the BTS and hit the shops. Walked alot but did not buy much. Everything is so small size in Bangkok and of course Fatgirl had difficulty buying clothes there. Actually I ended up buying very little this trip. Most of my money was spent on food and the only major purchase was bras! Yep, the bras in Thailand are definately cheaper than in Singapore! After work, XZ met up with me and we did more walking. We had a light dinner at one of the shopping malls and that was when I ate the hottest salad ever. If you know me, you will know that I have a super high tolerance for chilli. In fact, chilli is a staple in my meals but this salad nearly KILLED me. It was so damn hot that XZ and I were close to tears after every mouthful and I think our tongues were numbed after eating it. After that, we went to the night market where XZ had to help her friend buy some stuff. XZ was insistent that we not go for a massage although I was quite keen. She thought I was crazy to want to go so many times just becoz its half price as compared to Singapore!
On my last day, we woke up early to go to Chatuchak Weekend Market. It was really huge and really hot as the shops are packed really close to one another and there were MANY people there. Besides, clothes and souveniers, on sale were art pieces, pets and furniture! Luckily we went to the market early and it was not so crowded. But a really unfortunate event happened when I was there. I got a really bad stomache and had to go the toilet. As you already know, I was at a market and I can tell you, the toilet was quite gross. It was like "eeeewwwww"
After that, XZ brought me to a really nice restaurant at Chidlom for lunch. It was the yummiest meal I had in Bangkok but also the most stressful. XZ was going back on an earlier flight than me so we had to hurry through lunch for her to get to the airport. She insists that we had to hurry coz in her words, "You walk so damn slow and spent so much time in the toilet at Chatuchak lah. So now, have to eat faster or we will never make it back to the hotel in time!" After XZ left for the airport, I went for my last massage in Bangkok as I was going back on a later flight.
All in all, I had a really enjoyable time in Bangkok and thanks to XZ for showing me such a great time!
The super duper hot salad. Looks so harmless but packs a punch!

Soya sauce pork rice. Another one of Bangkok's famous food. XZ and I were already halfway through this plate when I remembered to take a photo! Yums!

The yummiest meal I had in Bangkok! Ceasar salad, thick tom yum soup with seafood and of course, pad thai! Can't leave Thailand without eating Pad Thai at least once when you are there!

Taiwan Trip Part 1
The one thing which I gained during my trip to Taiwan was more weight!! Ha ha. During my nine days there I ate non-stop. From the moment we stepped out of the hotel until we got back. We walked ALOT too but obviously all that walking did not help when we were eating and eating and eating all the time. The food in Taiwan is fantastic and the best food are those found at the night markets and small shops, not in restaurants. I do not know why but the bubble tea there tastes sooooooo much better than here. Considering I have had not any bubble tea for at least one year before my trip, I had three huge cups while I was there! Man, I am still dreaming about the bubble tea I had there.
The bed and breakfast I stayed at in Hualien, the owner is really nice auntie and she made fantastic ginger milk tea for breakfast. Her ginger milk tea is the yummiest I have drank to date and she is such a nice lady and her B&B is really nice that if I ever go back to Hualien, I will surely stay at her B&B! As you can see, I really enjoyed myself there! She was also the one who introduced me and my friends to roasted chicken backside! Yes, you read right! That was the most adventurous food I had in Taiwan and you know what, it tasted really good!! Yum, yum. There was so much I enjoyed about Hualien and I will definately recommend it to people as a place to visit but that shall come in another blog entry.
Sadly, I did not take pictures of all the food that I ate but I did manage to remember for some before I gobbled it all down!

The famous Ah Chung Mian Xian at Xi Men Ding. Flour noodles with pig's internal organs! I liked it so much I made my friends go back with me a second time! The really interesting thing is that its just a shop front and there are no tables and chairs for customers to sit. People just buy a bowl, add in the codiments they want (vinegar and chilli) then stand around the shop and start eating. After you are done, you leave the bowl in one of the buckets which the owner has left outside the shop. And this shop is in the hip and trendy part of Taipei!! Unbelievable but yep, its the truth!

Taiwan Rail is famous for the bian dang they sell on the trains. I ate this en-route from Taipei to Hualien. I was sitting next to my friend, Lala when she suddenly turned to me and asked me if I wanted to share a bian dang with her. Since lunch was barely 2 hours ago, I gave her a super horrified look and exclaimed, "WHAT! You are hungry already!!!???" Upon which, she became quite embarrassed and replied that she just wanted to try the bian dang!! Ha ha. The bian dang was really yummy. Everything in it was really DELICIOUS, from the rice to the pork chop, boiled egg, soya skin and vegetables. Poor Line, she slept through the train ride and did not have a chance to try the bian dang and scolded me and Lala for not waking her up!! Hee hee.

This little shop in Hualien only serves meat dumplings. One of the former President of Taiwan ate there before and its a really famous and popular shop in Hualien. The meat dumplings were really delicious. The meat was sweet and really tasty and the soup hot. This was one of the best meat dumplings I have ever tasted! There were around 10 in each bowl and quite big, not like those small ones sold in Singapore. Wish they will open a franchise in Singapore!

Our afternoon tea at the harbour in Hualien. Freshly made fish balls, freah salmon sashimi and fried bee hoon. The salmon sashimi was really cheap, only SGD 5!! Since Line do not eat raw food, Lala and I shared that box between us.

Our dinner on our second night in Haulien. Pork chop noodles, meat ball soup and boiled eggs with soya sauce. The meat ball soup was kind of disappointing but the pork chop noodles and eggs was really delicious. The pork chop was just so fragrant and fried just right. Drooooooool.

The rice dumpling I ate for lunch on our last day in Hualien. Line ate two of this coz it tasted quite food but regretted when we went to a farm after lunch. There was a cafe at the farm which sold cheese cake, yogurt and drinks. Yum yum yum! The food at the cafe was really good and Line "forced" herself to eat it. But all through out, she kept questioning her good sense as to why she ate two rice dumplings! And how if she did not, then she could have eaten more of the food at the cafe!! Ha ha.

Hua Zhi Geng at night market in Kao Shiong. Its a thick soup with squid and cuttlefish. Personally, I do not like squid and cuttlefish but this soup was really nice. I thought I will just drink one mouthful for the sake of trying then stop but ended up drinking a second, then a third and then I lost count!!
Of course there were much much more stuff I ate but here ends the pictures of the food which I ate in Taiwan.

Modern Toilet
Some months back when I was in Taiwan, I ate at a bathroom-themed restaurant which I thought was really interesting. The seats were toilet bowls and the tables bath tubs or sinks. The food served was fusion-chinese and tasted ok but obvously no one was there for the food. I must really applaud whoever who came up with this interesting idea coz it was a really interesting lunch and they have kept the prices affordable so that people can enjoy the place. A set meal costs of around SGD 15 comes with a soup, a drink, main course and dessert.
The entire restaurant's decorations were bathroom themed, with shower curtains and even lights that were shaped like toilet bowls. They even have souveniers on sale for customers to buy home. I could not resist and bought a few bottles of "shit" candy to bring home as souveniers for friends.
My 2 friends and I could not stop exclaiming when our main courses came. Their hot plate main courses were served on miniature toilet bowls and my pasta came in a bright blue bath tub! The dessert was even more interesting. It was soft-served ice cream shaped like shit served in a squat toilet bowl! Ha ha, looking back, it feels quite gross although it was a really interesting and fun experience! And the food was so edible that we finished everything which I must also compliment the restaurant owner on. Most times, such restaurants do not bother about the quality of food served as they know they will attract customers due to their unusual theme. However, if the food is crap, customers will only be attracted by the novelity of the place on their first visit and will not think of returning.
Anyway, they have quite a few shops in Taiwan and the one I visited was in Kao Shiong. So if any of you have a chance to go there, be sure to drop by and have a look.

Stuffed!
Just came back from my dinner date with Monoceros and VanTan. I am so stuffed now! We had italian food at this little restaurant at Prinsep Street recommended by Vantan. The food was ok and the company was great. I still love Valentino's best but its so far away and its always nice to try new places. Vantan took picures, don't know if she will be posting but if you are interested, go check out her blog.
We agreed that we wanted the rocket salad so that was what we started with. That one was good but then again, the three of us like rocket salad. Ha ha. We had quite a tough time choosing the pasta coz there were just so many varieties to choose from! In the end, we ended up with 3 types of pasta and ended off the meal with tiramisu. I must say that the squid and black ink sauce pasta was a good choice coz it was something different and tasted good. Personally, I am not a squid person but I enjoyed this pasta so it must have been quite delicious! :c) The rest of the food was ok and the dessert only so-so. I have tasted better tiramisu around. But always nice to try out new places, since I think I do try out new places enough!

Imperial Treasures
Firstly, I would like to thank Dim Sum Dolly who introduced the restaurant to me. A few weeks back, I was looking for a restaurant which served good chinese food at affordable prices and who do I look for when I needed quick information on such matters. I looked no further than my good friend, the foodie, Dim Sum Dolly of course! She recommended two places, one of which was Imperial Treasures Cantonese Cuisine at Great World City. I must say, I am not picky when it comes to food, it either tastes good or tastes bad and I usually leave it up to the other people I am dining with to pick the place to eat. Yep, basically, I am easy when it comes to food so when it comes to picking nice food for special occasions, I am totally clueless. Thank God, I have friends like Dim Sum Dolly, who constantly trys out food places and most importantly, remembers where the good food is. So when the occasion arises, lazy people like me will just conveniently ask her for suggestions! Ha ha. :c)
Anyway, back to my original story, I bought dinner for my family a few weeks back at Imperial Treasures at Great World City and we were really impressed with the good food and good service we had that night. Everything we tried was delicious, from the soups, the fried frog legs, goose, vegetables, pork ribs and dessert. The wait staff was also friendly and attentive. In fact, my dad liked the restaurant so much that he suggested we have dinner during Chinese New Year with our extended family there. So back there we went again today. This being my family's second visit, of course we had high expectations of the restaurant after having such a good time on our first visit. Fortunately, the food was still excellent and the service was still very good.
Sorry, I did not take any pictures of the food we ate but they are listed out below. I have written out some comments on the dishes I especially loved but bear in mind that I am not Dim Sum Dolly and most times, food to me either tastes good or bad so I do not really know how to describe why its so good like her. If you want to know how good it was, I would suggest you drop the Dim Sum Dolly a line or just go try out the restaurant lah! Overall, the food was really yum and this is one restaurant I expect to frequent quite often in future!
The food we had:
1) Salmon Yu Sheng (not much to say about this, its after all a dish everyone eats during Chinese New Year)
2) Barbecued pork, roast pork and roast goose combination (This was good. I liked the roast goose best)
3) Scallop with egg white and truffle oil (Okay, I am a big fan of scallops and if not for cholestrol and how expensive they are, I would eat scallops everyday! Ha ha. But this dish was absolutely FANTASTIC! From the first mouthful to the last, every bite brought forth a feeling of happiness!!!)
4) Hoy Si Fatt Choy (another CNY dish with oysters, sea cucumbers, fa cai and cabbage)
5) Steamed fish (Cannot remember the name of the fish but it was really fresh and tasty and sure made the $120 it cost worth it! Even my seven year old cousin loved it and asked for a second helping!)
6) Fried frog legs with ginger (another of my favourite. This dish is a different take on frog legs which are usually cooked in a claypot. Loved the fried ginger bits!)
7) Fried pork ribs with taro sauce (this was a fragrant dish but it would have tasted better with rice, as I thought it was abit salty eating it on its own)
8) Ee fu noodles with XO sauce (this was good)
9) Dessert (we picked different types but I had the mango sago which I thought was really good. Actually I had no more space for dessert but I tried the mango sago before and loved so I knew I just to use my spare stomach for this! Ha ha)
Dinner ended hours ago and I can still feel all the food in my stomach! But I knew I just have to write about this restaurant before the new day starts and I become too busy again and forget!

Curry Crab and KTV
My department has a culture of treating colleagues who have resigned to a good meal on their last day. I think its a kind of celebration for the colleague who is leaving, a kind of "Congratulations that you have decided to move on to having a life!" celebration.
Today I had my first taste of curry crab at the farewell dinner of a colleague. Its quite different from the usual kind of crab dishes served at seafood restaurants, which is usually fried, chilli or with black pepper. The curry crab was quite tasty, not too spicy and came in a claypot with lots gravy for us to dip our fried buns in! Quite a different experience. After the seafood dinner which I have nothing to recommend besides the curry crab, it was off KTV for more celebrating!!
I think the sad part of my job is that it is very difficult to meet up for dinner with friends who do not work the same kind of insane hours as me. If I am able to get off work at around 8pm, its considered early for me but my friends would have by that time, reached home and have had their dinner already. Or if they are not home, it will mean that they already have plans. So who do I know that will be available at such short notice........... obviously the people who work at the same company as me! Because of this, I end up going out alot with my colleagues which is not a bad thing for me as I get along well with my colleagues and we have common interests.

'Tis the season of indulgence
It seems that everyone around me is having a bountiful Chinese New Year this year! During the last few days, all I have talking with my colleagues about, was how much food we all ate over the Chinese New Year holidays. And guess what were we doing while we were talking.......... yes, eating more new year goodies like prawn rolls, pineapple tarts and kueh lapis!! Ha ha ha! Besides calories, I think my cholesterol probably sky-rocketed too from the amounts of prawns, scallops, abalone and lobster that I have been eating. Man, I just cannot resist good seafood!

Mooncakes!!
Mooncake festival is round the corner and I have been stuffing myself silly with mooncakes. My personal favourite, the baked ones filled with red date paste and melon seeds. They taste much better than the usual lotus paste ones and are not as sweet. Also, red dates are supposedly good for nourishing blood. Whatever lah, they are really yummy!!
Surprising, they cannot be found in Singapore and every year, I have to get them from Hong Kong. Why hasn't anyone in Singapore discover this yummy flavour for mooncakes yet??? Instead of coming up with really weird flavours like custard, lavender or whatever, why no red date flavour!!!

Soya Lover
I am a big fan of soya products. I cannot imagine life without tofu, soya bean milk, soya bean curd among many other soya related foods. Unfortunately, in a recent health test, I was diagnosed as having a high level of uric acid and was advised by my doctor to cut down on soya-related products. It seems that my almost daily consumption of supposedly healthy tofu and thric-weekly dosage of soya bean milk is causing me health problems!!! How horrifying. I was advised to drink low-fat cow's milk instead but hey, I drink soya bean milk not because I think its healthier but because I LIKE TO DRINK SOYA BEAN MILK lah!!!
After a survey of co-workers and friends, I realised that I was not alone in my health ailment. Many other soya lovers are facing th same problem, high levels of uric acid in their bodies. So what now, for the past few weeks I have been conscientiously avoiding all soya related products but ended up consuming other unhealthy foods like chocolates to satisfy my soya withdrawal symptoms.
So I gave up on avoiding soya. Having no soya in my diet is just going to cause me more pain than gain. Instead I have taken to limiting my tofu consumption to not more than three times a week hopefully and drinking my favourite soya bean milk only on weekends. Yes, everything is good in moderation and even healthy foods like soya can be bad when overly consumed! Ha, that's one more lesson learnt!

Pancake Cafe
Pancake Cafe is situated in Brisbane Central, a short 10 minute walk from Brisbane's Central train station. The cafe is located in an unused church and the pancakes there taste.....HEAVENLY. Ha ha ha. Pun intended but the pictures do not do justice to the taste of the pancakes. One of my brother's housemate is a fan of the pancakes there or else we would never have discovered the place on our own, considering the maze we had to walk through to get to the place!
A brief introduction to the pancakes we tried:
"Blackforest" is made up of 2 huge pieces of chocolate pancakes, a scoop of chocolate ice cream, chocolate-coated cherries and topped off with chocolate sauce. Yum yum yum. (This was what I had!)

"Bluberry" is 2 vanilla pancakes topped with a generous serving of blueberries and a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

And this savoury cheese and egg pancakes with a side salad.

All the pancakes come in generous portions, taste really good and the prices are really reasonable too!!! They cost around A$10 to A$12 per plate. Man, I have to go back again to have those pancakes! Drool......
The portions are so generous that even a sweet tooth chocoholic like me was not able to finish one serving by myself!! I struggled and felt really so sad I had to waste 3/4 of my second piece of pancake!

Food addict?
My colleague says I am addicted to food. It has something to do with the long hours people in my occupation work. Almost always, we will still be busy working at dinnertime. Many of colleagues do not seem to get hungry and seem to be able to function fine. Me, if I do not eat something at around 7-ish, my brain starts to malfunction and I cannot do anything but keep thinking of food. This is when, I will have to eat some form of solid food or I will start stuffing myself with snacks! Sometimes, the snacks are more efficient as its just too troublesome and takes too much time to venture out to buy some dinner. So explains my drastic weight gain, a result of biscuits and other unhealthy snacks while working late! Hmm, maybe I am really addicted to food because I really cannot function when I am hungry and start to feel very irritated at everything. Signs of withdrawal symptoms? What say you, tiggie, the one who studies people's thoughts and behavior among of us?

Stuffed with Indonesian food
My family had a gathering of sorts today and being the big eaters that we all are, we chose to have ala carte buffet at The Rice Table (a restaurant that serves Indonesian cuisine). I have a weak spot when it comes to spicy food especially spicy meat dishes. There goes any diet plans but as I woke up late and skipped breakfast so I felt a little less guilty about this diet laspse!!
The food was quite delicious. Big skewers of satay (barbecued kebabs), sayur lodeh (vegetable curry), tahur teloh (deep fried beancurd with egg), beef stew, grilled chicken, curried prawns, otah, sweet & sour fish, belachan kang kong and achar. Yes, it was a deliciously sinful lunch and the restaurant must be quite amazed at my family since we went at least five rounds of some of the dishes like the satay and sayur lodeh. Ha ha ha.
Now have to make up for this laspse by eating even more carefully next week. Sigh, have to persevere. Really want to live long enough to get to enjoy life!

New Year Indulgence
The fats in my body must be leaping in joy because of their newfound friends! Have been indulging in egg rolls, barbecued pork slices, fried prawn rolls, pineapple tarts, macadamia nuts, chocolates, prawn crackers and many others types of new year goodies for the past week! The snacks are all placed oh so conveniently on the coffee table and everytime I sit on the sofa to watch television, I will automatically reach out, grab a snack and start exercising my mouth! And that is not counting the snacks that I have been stuffing myself with when I went house-visting. Its no wonder the business at slimming centres boom after the festive season!
ps. DSD, I have your favourite chocolate cake sitting in my fridge!

Coffee Addict?
I used to drink coffee once in a blue moon and its usually the blended kind from Coffee Bean and Tea Leaves or Spinelli or some other coffee place. Since last year, I started this habit of drinking at least one cup of coffee a day to help myself keep awake. Tea, unfortunately is no help in this area. Lately, I have been trying to cut down on my coffee intake because I have identified it to be an "excess fat" item in my diet. I love milk in my coffee, there always has to be milk in my coffee but milk contains loads of calories!
Anyway, I resisted my coffee today and decided to have some juice instead. I am suffering from "heatiness" and coffee is a "heaty" drink so I have to take less of it. Late in the afternoon, I was at a client's place, typing away on my laptop when I smelt something really lovely in the air. Sniff, sniff, sniff, its COFFEE! Man, I started having bad withdrawal symptoms then! I had this intense coffee craving and it was in the same moment that I realised that I have become a coffee addict!!!!!!!! It was a really traumatising moment as I am a "tea person" if ever there is such a kind of branding and somehow, inadvertendly, I have become addicted to coffee!!??!!???! Sad to say, its an addiction that I will not be able to be rid off in the near future. Coffee is the one thing that helps me to keep awake when working late into the night (or more like till the early hours of the morning) and wakes up my sleep deprived brain in the mornings. Now, I finally understand why there are so many coffee addicts amongst my colleagues! Sigh! Any alternate suggestions anyone??

Good friends and good food
I always feel that good food taste better when shared with friends or family. Which is why I cannot stand to eat with people who like to count calories when eating. Oh come on, a few calories is not going to make that much of a difference lah!
Last weekend was a gastronomic adventure of sorts with good friends. I met up with R for high tea at the Royal Copenhagen Tea Lounge. The queue was rather long but I managed to get the two of us a table while waiting for "R who was stuck in a traffic jam" to turn up. The Tea Lounge is tuck away in a corner of one of the busiest shopping malls in Orchard Road and I refuse to say which one or else the queue may become even longer and I will have to queue for an even longer time in future!!! Hee hee! The lounge itself occupies a rather small area but the full wall of windows overlooking Orchard Road makes it a lovely place for tea and idle chit chat. Its called the Royal Copenhagen Tea Lounge as all its tableware and cutlery are from the porcelain brand "Royal Copenhagen". But its not the lovely tableware that makes the dining experience such a delight. Its the delicious cakes and tea. R (who had not had lunch yet)had a shrimp salad that was overflowing with shrimp and we shared a slice of orange cheese cake and a slice of green tea cake. Both cakes were really lovely. The cheese cake was light with faint orange undertone and the green tea cake was the best I had ever tasted!! Moist and a strong enough green tea flavour but not overpowering. Yummy! We each ordered a pot of tea along with the cakes. She had their signature blend (a variant of English Breakfast blend) and I had Darjeeling. I liked mine better as I found the signature blend a little too weak in flavour. Hey Overacuppa, I will bring you there the next time you come back, you will LOVE it there!
A few hours after my lovely high tea. I met up with another group of friends for a birthday celebration. We went to a lovely Mediterranean restuarant in Holland Village called "Original Sin". I had no idea what sort of food the restuarant served until I looked at the menu and realised that I would be having a vegetarian dinner. OK, I admit, I am a carnivore. I need meat in my diet or else I get cranky! And vegetarian food always gave me the impression that its bound to be tasteless and boiled or steamed. Perusing the menu was stressful as I kept hoping for some meat dish to jump out from the selection. Finally I settled on the tofu patties with mushroom sauce. My friends selected some starters and pizzas for sharing and I was still feeling disappointed with the food.
The starter was a mushroom dish baked with cheese and on my first bite, my impression of vegetarian food totally changed. It was simply delicious! Vegetarian food never tasted soooooooo good! It was unbelieveably yummy! The rest of the dinner was just as lovely as the group of us passed our food around the table and tasted the different mains that each of us have ordered. (Ok, I know that is not very hygenic but we have been friends for many years and are not icky about such things anymore!) The only complaint I have about the food was the salt. Everything was a little too salty for my taste! But overall, the food was fantastic and my impression of vegetarian food is forever changed!

Tis the season to be fatty.....la la la
Yes, Fatgirl has been indulging herself this season. It all started with a lunch with some colleagues on Christmas eve. A few of us planned a lunch gathering at Cafe De Amigo followed by a gift exchange session. The food was alright but the service was REALLY poor. I am not going back there again.
On Christmas Day, I went to two gatherings. First it was popiah dinner at Overacuppa's place. Yummy yummy yummy. Love popiah and Overacuppa's mum makes really delicious popiah. Totally indulged myself there then we had plum pudding from Scotland for dessert. Yummy yummy yummy again. Next I hopped over to another friend's place for gift exchange. Made a really valiant attempt to resist the chocolate fudge cake but gave in to temptation in the end when the cake looked too good to pass over. Yummy ymmmy yummy!
Tonight, I had a family dinner with all the works. Turkey with cranberry sauce, baked ham, steam prawns, grilled mutton, fried vermicilli, mashed potatoes, salad, chocolate log cake and strawberry pie all washed down with several different types of alcohol. Man, I stopped stuffing my face more than two hours ago and my stomach still feels as if its going to explode! No, I am not going count how many calories I have consumed in the last week or so. And the above is not inclusive of other lunch/dinner dates and the chocolates I have eaten in the last week or so. Argh argh argh!

Food Theraphy
It was an exhasting day at work. There were a million and one things to do and I never seem to be able to finish everything. And worse, what I manage to finish was not done properly and I have to re-do it. Sigh. Hopefully I will get used to all this soon and look less of an idiot.
But as late as I came home, a feast was waiting for me. Mummy cooked tom yum soup, fried mee goreng and bought barbecued pork and roast duck from my favourite roast meats stall!!! Yummy. No words can describe the wonderful satisfaction I had after my meal. Its really late but I just had to eat all that, everything was just too delicious to pass over.
