Food addict?

My colleague says I am addicted to food. It has something to do with the long hours people in my occupation work. Almost always, we will still be busy working at dinnertime. Many of colleagues do not seem to get hungry and seem to be able to function fine. Me, if I do not eat something at around 7-ish, my brain starts to malfunction and I cannot do anything but keep thinking of food. This is when, I will have to eat some form of solid food or I will start stuffing myself with snacks! Sometimes, the snacks are more efficient as its just too troublesome and takes too much time to venture out to buy some dinner. So explains my drastic weight gain, a result of biscuits and other unhealthy snacks while working late! Hmm, maybe I am really addicted to food because I really cannot function when I am hungry and start to feel very irritated at everything. Signs of withdrawal symptoms? What say you, tiggie, the one who studies people's thoughts and behavior among of us?

oh! i am obliged to answer this...

gosh i don't really study people's thoughts... any more than you and everyone else!

i think it's natural to feel hungry if you have to concentrate and think hard about problems etc... your brain uses up glucose -- your energy source and if you are hungry you ought to eat; rather than eating because it is time to do so! my late grandpa always say that you should never go hungry because you will starve your brains too. i think he's terribly wise. if you want to snack... i highly recommend blueberries! =C)
