Imperial Treasures

Firstly, I would like to thank Dim Sum Dolly who introduced the restaurant to me. A few weeks back, I was looking for a restaurant which served good chinese food at affordable prices and who do I look for when I needed quick information on such matters. I looked no further than my good friend, the foodie, Dim Sum Dolly of course! She recommended two places, one of which was Imperial Treasures Cantonese Cuisine at Great World City. I must say, I am not picky when it comes to food, it either tastes good or tastes bad and I usually leave it up to the other people I am dining with to pick the place to eat. Yep, basically, I am easy when it comes to food so when it comes to picking nice food for special occasions, I am totally clueless. Thank God, I have friends like Dim Sum Dolly, who constantly trys out food places and most importantly, remembers where the good food is. So when the occasion arises, lazy people like me will just conveniently ask her for suggestions! Ha ha. :c)

Anyway, back to my original story, I bought dinner for my family a few weeks back at Imperial Treasures at Great World City and we were really impressed with the good food and good service we had that night. Everything we tried was delicious, from the soups, the fried frog legs, goose, vegetables, pork ribs and dessert. The wait staff was also friendly and attentive. In fact, my dad liked the restaurant so much that he suggested we have dinner during Chinese New Year with our extended family there. So back there we went again today. This being my family's second visit, of course we had high expectations of the restaurant after having such a good time on our first visit. Fortunately, the food was still excellent and the service was still very good.

Sorry, I did not take any pictures of the food we ate but they are listed out below. I have written out some comments on the dishes I especially loved but bear in mind that I am not Dim Sum Dolly and most times, food to me either tastes good or bad so I do not really know how to describe why its so good like her. If you want to know how good it was, I would suggest you drop the Dim Sum Dolly a line or just go try out the restaurant lah! Overall, the food was really yum and this is one restaurant I expect to frequent quite often in future!

The food we had:
1) Salmon Yu Sheng (not much to say about this, its after all a dish everyone eats during Chinese New Year)
2) Barbecued pork, roast pork and roast goose combination (This was good. I liked the roast goose best)
3) Scallop with egg white and truffle oil (Okay, I am a big fan of scallops and if not for cholestrol and how expensive they are, I would eat scallops everyday! Ha ha. But this dish was absolutely FANTASTIC! From the first mouthful to the last, every bite brought forth a feeling of happiness!!!)
4) Hoy Si Fatt Choy (another CNY dish with oysters, sea cucumbers, fa cai and cabbage)
5) Steamed fish (Cannot remember the name of the fish but it was really fresh and tasty and sure made the $120 it cost worth it! Even my seven year old cousin loved it and asked for a second helping!)
6) Fried frog legs with ginger (another of my favourite. This dish is a different take on frog legs which are usually cooked in a claypot. Loved the fried ginger bits!)
7) Fried pork ribs with taro sauce (this was a fragrant dish but it would have tasted better with rice, as I thought it was abit salty eating it on its own)
8) Ee fu noodles with XO sauce (this was good)
9) Dessert (we picked different types but I had the mango sago which I thought was really good. Actually I had no more space for dessert but I tried the mango sago before and loved so I knew I just to use my spare stomach for this! Ha ha)

Dinner ended hours ago and I can still feel all the food in my stomach! But I knew I just have to write about this restaurant before the new day starts and I become too busy again and forget!
